Always room for one more!

I LOVE furniture.
I have found that my therapy is to buy what I want, refurbish it, and usually I sell it. Well I guess I should should say, "Sometimes" I sell it.
This is my most recent $20 Dresser off of Craigie's, I had already done a little sanding...

I had wanted to attach those metal label frames to each drawer to label contents of the drawers but couldn't find them. Improvise: chalkboard paint strips.
This Dresser sits in my entryway and now holds our blankets and board games. In the winter it will hold scarves and mittens.

I'll sell the next one, Promise.

synthetic sunshine

Here in Ak sometimes we have to make our own sunshine. We just endured the longest, coldest, snowiest winter ever and I am ready for the sun! Enter Yellow.

I bought this dresser last year on Craigies. This thing is a monster, heaviest tall boy I have ever had.
.

I am a crafting insomniac. This is what 1 am looks like outside. One advantage to Ak living.

This is three coats in - pre distressing.  I did the same technique on this dresser with using three different colors of yellow to give it life once I distress back down through those shades.

This Piece has been sold, but I was so in love with that brightness in the house I will paint something yellow for me soon.

I know in our country this is a time of turmoil. But as of today I am free to worship my God, own my own business,  marry my true love, have more children, Vote, speak freely, watch The Bachelorette and so many other things that make my life mine. And today and every day I am

ZoomZoom

Elias, Mila and I were out on the driveway in the sun the other day and Eli said,

"mom, mom, MOM, Look mom, Hey mom, MOOOMMM!"

I looked over and he was riding his bike without training wheels! The training wheels had fallen off. Aaron took him on his first candy run.

Emerald Chest

I have wanted an emerald piece of furniture for a while now. I haven't been able to find that perfect paint color, too dark is hunter. *Ew* Too light is Kelly -and that's cool, but I want Emerald! So I got brave/bored/bold the other day and dragged this small dresser out into the garage.

This is a picture of the chest where I found it last year- at a junkyard, under a tarp on the highway. -$20

sand. sand. sand.
Here is where it got interesting...I painted the first coat "eden green", second coat I misted florescent green, third coat I misted a primary green.
The color in person has a lot of depth and is very alive. Not sure if it will stay in my room, but for now I like it!

Just Us

Aaron and I got away together a couple weekends ago. To the tropical city of Seward, Alaska. Much needed. Remembered why I like him so much.

Good home

Sold this coffee table on Craigslist last night. 1960s, vintage modern, George Jetson's family room esque. I heart this Coffee table.

Fact: you cannot have 5 coffee tables AND a happy husband.

Good news: Kim, the new mom of this fab coffee table is obsessed with furniture and we chatted about our "un medicated mania" for upcycling. Until her phone started ringing off the hook from people who knew she was on a craigslist run. Checking to make sure she was alive.

I. am. not. alone.
